Results indicate that the hospital’s outcomes are superior in terms of psycho-social and long-term recovery than other participating mental health services.

Licensing & Accreditation

South Pacific Private is a registered Acute Care Psychiatric Hospital, fully licensed by the NSW Department of Health and is accredited against National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the National Standards for Mental Health.

South Pacific Private operates under the regulation and compliance of the:

  • Private Health Facilities Act 2007
  • Private Health Facilities Regulation 2017
  • Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1996 and
  • Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 2008

South Pacific Private prides itself on the level of safety, quality and care it provides and has maintained accreditation, as certified by independent assessors, as a part of quality management and improvement processes since inception.

South Pacific Private is an Australian, family-owned company governed by an engaged board. The hospital’s processes and policies are determined via a cooperative system of committees:

  • Medical Advisory Committee (MAC)
  • Research & Ethics Committee (REC)
  • Work Health & Safety Committee (WHS)
  • Clinical Directions Committee (CDC)
  • Quality Improvement Committee (QI) and
  • Communications Committee (CC)

Consumers & Carers

SPP has a dedicated Consumers & Carers Committee which is made up of former South Pacific Private clients and carers/family members of former SPP clients, who advise and make recommendations based on first-hand, lived experience.
