Throughout the day, Dr Vaccaro will describe a comprehensive treatment modality for Compulsive Sexual Behaviours integrating an asset-based approach with deep psychology, attachment theory, trauma theory, Somatic experiencing, intersubjective theory, harm reduction strategies, addiction reasearch and traditional recovery techniques.

Dr Gaetano Vaccaro, PhD


Gaetano Vaccaro, PhD, is Director of Program Development and DeputyDr Gaetano Vaccaro Clinical Director at MOONVIEW SANCTUARY, a psychological treatment centre in Santa Monica, California that focuses on a holistic approach to healing. Dr. Vaccaro has created comprehensive assessment processes and cutting-edge multi-modal treatment programs for releasing addictions, transforming personal crisis, professional development and personal growth.

Dr. Vaccaro is also the Director of Clinical Services and Director of Program Development for 12 VISIONS, INTERNATIONAL ONLINE RECOVERY, a ground breaking Internet-based addiction recovery program. This innovative program includes individual and group therapy and a curriculum for self-guided recovery modules created by Dr. Vaccaro.

Dr. Vaccaro received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California, specializing in the treatment of sexual addiction and compulsivity. Dr. Vaccaro also holds a Master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. He was formerly the Manager of Clinical and Behavioural Research at the Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Clinic and for eleven years he specialised in HIV/AIDS treatment and education, as well as addictive behaviours, and mood disorders.

Dr. Vaccaro is an internationally recognised lecturer on sexual compulsivity and addiction recovery, as well as stress management, human development and personal growth. He has published several journal articles (co-authored with Joni Lavick, MFT) on Anxiety, Trauma, and Personal Mental Health. His upcoming book The Passionate Man (co-authored with Jean’Pierre Brodeur) has been developed into a series of workshops entitled “Reclaiming Passion”, designed to assist both men and women in reconnecting with an internal sense of passion, enthusiasm and purpose that can revitalise their relationships and their lives. Dr. Vaccaro also conducts corporate trainings in Organisational Psychology, Optimal Performance and Change Management.

Compulsive Sexual Behaviour (CSB), along with a
comprehensive treatment modality specifically developed
to treat this addiction.

During this seminar, Dr Vaccaro will discuss CSB and

• A social/legal and public health problem

theory, harm reduction strategies, addiction research
